Agnes was born February 7, 1914, to Ole, a Norwegian cabinet maker, and Olea Vold in Windom, MN. At age 6, Agnes began her fashion career sewing doll clothes which eventually lead to her vocation in high fashion. A fledgling concept, the age of Readyto-Wear, started during her employment at her towns local dress shop. She taught country school in a one-room school house in Cottonwood County, MN and eventually moved to St. Paul, MN to work for Montgomery-Ward, as its first female buyer and manager. In 1941, Agnes interviewed and accepted a position as a dress buyer with a chain of stores in Iowa and Minnesota, named D.K. Lundberg & Company based in Mason City, IA. After marrying D.K.s son, Marcus, the couple operated the store together until Marcuss death in 1966. While she maintained an active role in the stores success by operating it with her sons, John and Mark, she continued to be an energetic and enthusiastic world traveler. Agnes was the driving force of Lundbergs House of Fashions success for over six decades. Her life is celebrated by her four children: John (Marty) Lundberg of Clear Lake, Mary Perry of Huntington Beach, CA, Mark (Kendall) Lundberg of Clear Lake, Christine (David) Roberts of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren: Kathy (David) Gates of Prairieville, LA, Michael (Angie) Lundberg of Ankeny, IA, David Perry of North Hollywood, CA, Lisa Perry of Huntington Beach, CA, Marcus (Julie) Lundberg of Rochester, MN, Michael (Jeff) Graney of Perry, IA, Lauren (Pamela) Lundberg of Crystal Lake, IL, Katie Roberts of Cedar Falls, IA, James Roberts of Cedar Falls, IA; four great-grandchildren: Brian and Megan Gates of Prairieville, LA and Leif and Alida Lundberg of Rochester, MN.
