Alvin C. Kittleson

Alvin C. Kittleson, 80, of Mason City died Wednesday (April 9, 2002) at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Kenneth Hatland, Trinity Lutheran Church and Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday and continue Saturday morning till time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Alvin C. Kittleson Memorial Fund. Alvin was born December 3, 1922 in Mason City the son of Clarence and Mabel (Lincicum) Kittleson. He attended school in Mason City. Alvin enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1942 and served in the Pacific Theatre during the duration. Upon his discharge, he returned to Mason City and married Herdis Anderson June 11, 1945 in Mason City. Alvin was a letter carrier in Mason City for many years retiring in 1978. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW, enjoyed playing golf and the Chicago Cubs. Alvin is survived by his wife; Herdis of Mason City, Sons; Mike Kittleson and wife Jayne of Mason City, Eric Kittleson of Mason City, Brian Kittleson of Cincinnati, OH. Grandchildren; Joel Kittleson and wife Michelle of Mason City, Angi Kyllo and husband Steve of St. Paul, MN. Angie Hauswirth and husband Keith of Corwith, Elizabeth Tompkins of Austin, TX. Van Tompkins and wife Stacy of Iowa City, Emily Kittleson of Golden, CO. Great Grandchildren; Michael, Kyle, Andy, Chaise, Kara, Kayla and Rocco Jordan, Sisters; Dorothy Ingle of Russelville, KY, Arlene Factor of Mason City, Brother; Howard Kittleson of Ventura, CA, many nieces and nephews Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Brother; Warren, Sister; Beverly
