Alvina C. Fisher, 91, of Montrose, formerly of Mason City, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Montrose. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mason City with Pastor Jim Luder, HCI Hospice Care Services of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to HCI Hospice Care Services, 118 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, Iowa 52641-2052. Alvina was born April 13, 1923 in Mason City the daughter of Henry and Anna (Borger) Reich. She married Gerald W. Fisher May 5, 1944 in Mason City. Alvina worked for Jacob E. Decker and Sons and also as a night dispatcher for Yellow Cab Company here in Mason City. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A few of her interests included reading, watching old time movies and traveling with friends. Alvina is survived by her children, Alan D. Fisher of Clear Lake, Virginia M. Dinwiddie of Montrose and Bonnie J. (Rod) Peekenschneider of Lake Park; grandchildren, Jason and Stephen Dinwiddie and Tyler Peekenschneider. Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald in 1989 and 2 sisters, Mary and Hanna.
