Andrew Risius

Andrew Risius, 91, of Mason City, died Sunday (July 18, 2004) at the IOOF Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Ramsey Reformed Church, rural Titonka with Rev. Dennis Redeker, Ramsey Reformed Church, Titonka and Rev. Jack Vanden Heuvel , Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church, Mason City officiating. Interment will be in the Ramsey Reformed Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mason City. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to Exceptional Opportunities, PO Box 99, Burt, Iowa 50522. Andrew was born June 12, 1913 in Buffalo Center, Iowa the son of Johann and Antje (Peterson) Risius. He attended rural country school in the Buffalo Center area. Andrew married Marie Mayland February 24, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Titonka. Andrew farmed in the Buffalo Center area his entire life retiring to Titonka in 1978. He and Marie moved to Mason City in 1991 and lived in the Willows. Andrew was a member of Ramsey Reformed Church and attended Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church while living in Mason City. He is survived by 6 sons, Gary Risius and wife Paula of Earlham, Dale Risius and wife Nancy of Long Grove, Wayne Risius of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Kenneth Risius and wife Kathe of Buffalo Center, Lyle Risius and wife Diane of Normal, IL, Joe Risius of Algona; grandchildren, David Risius and wife Christy, Amy Risius, Stephanie Risius, Eric Risius and wife Lori, Abby Risius, Ida Risius, Greg Risius, James Risius, Audrey Risius, Amanda Risius, Mary Risius and Elizabeth Risius; great grandchildren, Allison and Jack Risius; sister-in-law?s, Wilhelmina Risius of Buffalo Center, Irene Mayland of Titonka; special friend, Beth Elder of Mason City. Andrew?s parents, wife and 7 brothers preceded him in death.
