Anita Louise Walker

Anita L. Walker, 72, of Mason City, died Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the I.O.O.F. Home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 8, 2018 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. with Rev. Kenneth Gehling Chaplain – Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa officiating.

Inurnment will follow in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Anita L. Walker memorial fund in care of the family.

Anita Louise Walker was born on June 1, 1946 in Mason City to parents Joseph and Theresa (Vasquez) Sanchez. Growing up Anita attended the Holy Family Catholic Schools later graduating from Mason City High School. Anita was united in marriage to Edwin Walker.
Those who knew Anita knew that the most important thing in the world to her was her family; she always believed in her children and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anita had a love for watching western movies, listening to country music, when she was younger she loved bowling and she enjoyed reading books and solving word searches.
Anita was a long-time member of the Catholic Daughters and was always a very religious person. For 15 years Anita worked at Kraft Foods before retiring.
Anita is survived by her children: Ned Walker, Heather (Christian) Walker-Kral; brother: Joe (Julie) Sanchez; sister in-law: Susan (Gary) Gerdes; nephews: Doug Gerdes, Chad Sanchez, Troy Sanchez; niece: Erica Sanchez; grandchildren: Nicole Walker, Ashley (Seth) Rogers, Brenden Walker; Great Grandchildren: Jayden Loge, Chanel Walker and special friend: Barb Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Edwin Walker; mother Theresa Vasquez; nephew: Greg Gerdes; sister in-law: Mary Ann Walker.
