Arthur S. ?Stan? Johnson, 81, of 302 2nd St. NE, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 ? 4th Street SE with Pastor Paul Nelson officiating. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church on Monday one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa. Stan was born September 19, 1925 in Mason City the son of Arthur E. and Katie E. (Cawley) Johnson. Stan served with the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1952. He married Dorothy L. Buhr May 9, 1952 in Mason City. Stan worked as a truck driver for 39 years, retiring in 1987. In 2000, Stan received his diploma from Mason City High School. Stan was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge, IOOF Lodge and Queen Rebekah Lodge. He also had served as a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 212, Little League Baseball coach and was an avid Mohawk and Hawkeye fan. Stan is survived by his children, Tom Johnson and wife Cindy of Chaska, Minnesota, Kathy Follmuth and husband Bob of Mason City and Mike Johnson and wife Georgann of Windsor Heights; grandchildren, Eric Follmuth and friend Amy Rowe of Mason City, Carrie Braun and husband Greg of Mason City, Kari Follmuth of Mason City, Katy Johnson and friend Jake Bonneau of Santa Barbara, California, Jessica Sanford and husband Bryan of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Nick Johnson of Chaska, Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Emily and Alexander Follmuth, Madison, Paige and Jenna Braun, Cassidy Sanford of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Arlene Berrie of Mason City and Lois Turkal and husband Frank of Lancaster, California; numerous very special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles; wife Dorothy in 2004.
