Audrey Elizabeth Allen, 83, of Mason City, IA, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Heritage Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2014, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Memorials may be directed to the Audrey Allen Memorial Fund. Audrey was born September 3, 1930, in Cambridge, MD, the daughter of Thomas R. and Audrey E. (Creighton) Lewis. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School in Glen Burnie, MD in 1948. She continued her education at the Baltimore Business College in Baltimore, MD. She married James Dickson and to this union 4 children were born. Over the years she lived in Hooper’s Island on Maryland’s Eastern Shore (10 Years), Baltimore, Brooklyn Park and the Glen Burnie area until 1969. She then married Davin N Allen in Maryland and made their home in Iowa. She then moved to Mason City where she lived for 9 years before moving to Plymouth, IA. In 2006, Audrey returned to Mason City. She worked as a Registrar/Secretary for the Mason City School District for 26 ½ years before her retirement in 1996. She also co-ran Barb’s Tours, which she really enjoyed. She also enjoyed taking trips, genealogy, NIACC shows, watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren dance, and talking on the phone with her granddaughter Mandy. She loved spending time with her family and would look forward to holiday get-together’s – especially Christmas. She was known to her family as “Mom Mom”. Audrey was a member of the Women's club, retitred school personnel, VFW 733 Auxiliary, the Iowa Association of Office Professionals and the Red Hat Society. Audrey is survived by 2 sons: Dennis J. Dickson and wife Marlene of Westminster, MD, and Thomas R. Dickson and wife Debbie of Bel Air, MD; 1 daughter: Brenda L. Carter and husband Michael of Brooklyn Park, MD; special granddaughter: Mandy Angell and husband Curt of Mason City, and their children: Nicholas Angell, Alexander Levad and Rosella Levad; special grandson: Shane Servantez and wife Kyla of Mason City, and their children: Cambree and Cole Servantez; grandchildren: Michael, Becky, Phil, Robbie, Danielle and Garrett; many great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild all from Maryland; sister-in-law: Cheryl Allen of Mason City; and brother-in-law: Robert Allen and wife Judy of Mason City. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1996; daughter: Karen Dickson in 1998; and 1 grandchild: Sandy.

Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
