Berdena Mary Taylor

Berdena ‘Dee’ Mary (Hahn) Taylor, 91, of Mason City, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave, with Pastor Dave Byrd, IOOF Chaplain officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or to Alzheimer’s Research.

Dee was born January 13, 1925 in Blackduck, MN, the 3rd child of Lowell and Zella (Lingenfelter) Hahn. She was affectionately known as “Deannie” to her friends and family.

In 1945, she married Leonard Erickson. To this union four children were born. The couple divorced in 1960.

In 1967, she was united in marriage to Jim Taylor. Together, they enjoyed playing cards, dancing at the V.F.W., traveling in their RV and spending time with friends.

Most of all, Dee loved spending time with her family and doting on her beloved dachshunds.

Dee is survived by her sister, Dolly (Dallas) Beck; children, Lenny Erickson, Curtis (Paige) Erickson, Connie Erickson and Russell (Dee Foutch) Erickson. Step-children, Nancy, Maureen, Rich and Linda; grandchildren, Christopher (Lindsey) Erickson, Travis (Kristin) Hosmer, Jeremiah (Tasha) Hosmer, Maura Hosmer, Larissa (George) Weber, Ethan (Theresa) Erickson, Tyler Erickson; great grandchildren, Parker, Beyonca, Elijah, Tatum, Ruby, Oliver, Isaac and Ezra.

Dee was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Hilbert, Raymond and Otis.
