Betty C. Willcox

Mason City Betty C. Willcox, 89, of Mason City, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Good Shepherd Health Center. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery, with Rev. Kent A. Mechler, Chaplain of Good Shepherd, officiating. Per Bettys wishes, she was cremated and there will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of North Iowa, 2700 S. Birch Drive, Mason City, Iowa, 50401.

Betty was born July 16, 1922, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Chester and Lois (Ruby) DeMoss. She graduated from Mason City High School. On September 3, 1957, Betty was united in marriage to Harry G. Willcox in Mason City. She served many customers at Elms Hotel and had an avid love for animals.

Betty is survived by her dear friends, Jane Papouchis/Gene Hockenson, Marie and Ted Grady, and Peggy and Larry Davis; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry, in June of 2003; step-son, Dennis Willcox, in March of 2003.
