Betty J. Berry, 93, of Mason City, IA, died Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Family and friends will gather for a graveside service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Elmwood St-Joseph Cemetery with Rev. Kent Mechler, Chaplain – Good Shepherd Health Center officiating.
Betty Berry was born on April 22, 1923 in Moundville, MO to her parents Clinton and Bertha (Jones) Taylor. Betty attended Nora Springs High School and graduated in 1941, she would then go on to attend Hamilton Business College in Mason City graduating in 1943. Betty was united in marriage in 1947 to her husband Walter Berry.
Betty spent all of her married life in Mason City. In her retirement years she and Walter were avid travelers, traveling to Florida and Texas for the winters. Betty was also a skilled pianist and organist learning to play when she was a child.
Betty is survived by children: Michael Walter, Patricia (Richard) Kozelka, Thomas (Susan) Berry and Susan Stone; Sister Hellen Daily; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Allison King and brothers Kenneth Taylor, Frank Stevens and Nyle Taylor.
