Betty Jane Moen

Betty Jane Moen, age 91, of Mason City, Iowa, died on Monday, November 3, 2014, at Good Shepherd Health Center. A private inurnment is planned. A lifelong resident of Mason City, Betty was a devoted wife and mother. Betty graduated from Mason City High School. She married Robert E. Moen in Long Beach, California in 1943 prior to her husband being shipped overseas during World War II. She is survived by her husband, daughters: Heather Moen and Debra Moen Willis; son-in-law, Bry Willis; and grandchildren: Hailey Fitzgerald, Hillary Fitzgerald, Hunter Willis; and great-grandson, Pierce Fitzgerald Thomason. She leaves behind beloved siblings: Elsie Hanson (Donald), Marylou Patten, and Delbert Dutcher (JoAnn), as well as many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn Dutcher Casebolt and Ernest Dutcher, and three brothers: Bud, Gene, and Jim Dutcher. For those who knew and loved her, Betty was a role model on how to live a life based on kindness, integrity and unconditional love.
