Betty Jane Nelson

Mason City Betty Jane Nelson, 84, of Mason City, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Good Shepherd Health Center. Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Rockwell Cemetery with Rev. Sid Bohls of St. Pauls Lutheran Church officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Pauls Lutheran Church.
Betty J. Nelson was born February 22, 1926 in rural Cerro Gordo County to Lambert and Emma (Zutz) Nelson. She attended schools in Mason City and graduated from there in 1945. During High School she worked for Woolworths. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Mason City. At the age of 5 after her mothers passing, she resided with Bert and Clara Camp until their passing. She resided at the Cerro Gordo County Home and then was a long-time resident at Good Shepherd Health Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and foster parents, Bert and Clara Camp and caregivers, Robert and Lydia Kalouse.
