Billie D. Constable Sr.

Billie D. Constable Sr., 79, of Mason City, formerly of Fort Dodge, IA, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Praise Community Church, 11 2nd Street NW, with Pastor Jeff Dahlin of Praise Community Church and Ken Quintus of 14th Street Gospel Place officiating. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge - at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Billie Constable memorial fund in care of the family. Bill was born February 29, 1932, in Fort Dodge, the son of Ward and Agnes (Peed) Constable. He attended school at Corpus Christi in Fort Dodge. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a member of Praise Community Church and also attended the 14th Street Gospel Place. Bill was also a member of the VFW. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping, and horseback riding. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and AA. Bill was a “Jack of All Trades and Master of None”, who enjoyed tinkering/fixing things. Bill was an active person who found great joy in helping others – often bringing people to AA meetings and church services. Bill is survived by his children: Billie Constable Jr. and wife Sallie of Mounds View, MN, Kathryn Cook of Fort Dodge, IA, Mark Constable and Chris of Kyle, TX, Kimberly Brand of Hillsborough, NC, Todd Constable and wife Kari of Fort Dodge, Traci Constable of Hillsborough, and Billie Constable of Oklahoma City, OK; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one sister: Veronica Parsons of Algona, IA; and one brother: Don Albright and wife Lala of Des Moines, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 grandchild: Rachael Robeson; 2 brothers: John and Bob Constable; and brother-in-law: Jerry Parsons.
