Blanche O. Miner, 88, of Mason City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Blanche O. Miner memorial fund in care of the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com. Blanche was born July 16, 1924 in Emmons, MN, the daughter of Bert & Dora Olson. She was married to Harold B. Miner on July 27, 1943 in Sargent, MN and they moved to New Jersey. Lois worked in the defense plant make ship cables in Bayonne, New Jersey. They then moved to a farm in Blooming Prarie, MN before moving to Mason City in 1960. She worked at Heritage Care Center, North Iowa Medical Center as a dietary supervisor and lastly as a customer greeter at Wal-Mart until she retired when she turned 82. Blanche loved cooking and baking for her family. She loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas and to visit family in Norway. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Mary (David) Johnson, Darlene (Nate) Gunderson, Dean (Vicki) Miner, Earl (Ann) Miner, and Harold F. (Elin) Miner; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Miner; three brothers, and two sisters.
