Bob L. Paulson, 86, of Mason City, IA, died Monday, December 22, 2014, at the IOOF Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the First Christian Church, 318 N. Adams, with Rev. Keith Scott officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Mason City Veterans Association. Visitation will be one hour prior to the church service. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army Adult Day Health Center, 747 Village Green Drive SW, Mason City, IA 50401. Bob Leroy Paulson was born June 18, 1928, in Austinville, IA, the son of Andrew and Goldie (Reynolds) Paulson. After graduating from Mason City High School in June of 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Kwang Ju, Korea. He served 18 months and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Bob married Ardis S. Hegland on August 11, 1951, at the First Christian Church in Mason City; to this union four children were born: John, Ronald, Wendy and Nancy. He joined the First Christian Church and was baptized April 5, 1953. When he returned to Mason City he went to work at Mason City Brick and Tile. On February 5, 1952, he started at Jacob E. Decker & Decker Packing Plant and retired from Armour Meat Packing Plant on December 16, 1983. Following his retirement, Bob worked for AMPI for 4 ½ years. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching Hawkeye Basketball and playing with his dog Lucy. He was a member of the First Christian Church, VFW, Senior Citizens Center and the AARP. Bob is survived by his children: John L. Paulson and wife Janice of Forest Lake, MN, Ronald A. Paulson of Roseville, MN, and Nancy L. Paulson and Todd of Mason City; grandchildren: Bill Mann, Stacy Stalfort, and Rebecca Rodriguez and great grandchildren: Katelyn Mann (daughter of Rebecca), Alision Stalfort (daughter of Stacy), and Sara Rodriguez (daughter of Rebecca); 2 sisters: Helen Halsne of Clear Lake and Emily Reab of Appleton, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2007; and a daughter: Wendy Paulson.

Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
