Bonna B. Christensen

April 17, 1916 — March 15, 2008

Bonna B. Christensen, 91 of Woodbury, MN formerly of Mason City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Woodbury Health Care Center in Woodbury, MN.   Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at  Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania, Mason City, IA, with Rev. Jim Magelssen officiating.  Visitation will be from 4PM 7PM, Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, and one hour prior to the church service.  Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the Bonna Christensen memorial fund.
 
Bonna Christensen was born April 17, 1916, in Buffalo Center, IA to Charles and Mary (Johnson) Beyer.  She graduated from Buffalo Center High School.  In 1934 she married Soren Christensen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.
 Bonna was a true homemaker.  She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her entire family.  She also enjoyed sewing and crafting.  She taught rug braiding classes at the YWCA.  For many years she and Soren had an antique shop in their home in Nora Springs.They spent their summers at their cabin on Lake Vermilion in Cook, MN.  Bonna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
 
 
She is survived by her children, Gary Christensen and wife Mary of Bloomington, MN, Carol Hansen and husband Volney Zip of Woodbury, MN, Jon Christensen and wife Fita of Monarch Beach, CA; 13 grandchildren, Kent and Ann-Marie Christensen, Kevin Christensen, Kimberly and Phil Finanger, Kyle and Lisa Christensen, Cathy and Rick Storey, Russ and Tammy Hansen, Christine and Matt Francis, Mindy and Jim Nelson, Tamara and Mario Commandatore, Shelly Christensen, Jamie and Janette McMillin, Jill and David Meitzler, and  Maria Elena McMillin; 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
  
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Soren C. in 1999; one sister, two brothers, and 2 great grandchildren.

Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation:
Monday, March 24, 2008  4:00 to 7:00 PM  @ Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. and also one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
