Bonnie J. McNamara, age 70, of Mason City, IA, died Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, following a courageous 2 ½ year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church, 340 20th Street Southwest, with Rev. Jack Vanden Heuvel officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, December 26, 2014, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Bonnie McNamara memorial fund in care of the family. Bonnie was born January 22, 1944, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Lester and Margaret (Urban) Wachendorf. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1961. Bonnie married Lanny H. McNamara Sr. on July 1, 1961, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Rockwell, IA. From 1973 - 1991 she worked for Libbey-Owens-Ford Company and from 1991 - 2012, she co-owned/operated B & C Cleaning Services with her sister, Carol Willier. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, vacationing, Wheel of Fortune and bird watching with her cat, Rosie. She was a member of Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Bonnie is survived by 3 children: John McNamara and wife Dariel of Perry, IA, Lanny McNamara Jr. of Charlotte, NC, and Greg McNamara of Mason City; 7 grandchildren: Levi and wife Morgan, Austin, Melissa, Mariah, Amy, Codie and fiancée Marissa Wallace, and Jacob McNamara; 2 great grandchildren: Zoe and Makayla McNamara; 1 sister: Carol Willier of Mason City; her favorite sister-in-law: Audrey Warner of Mason City; and special cousins: Diana, Sandy, Vickie, Barb and Pam. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1998, 1 sister: Peggy Wachendorf; 1 brother: Gary Wachendorf; her aunt: Bonnie Stoneking; and her beloved dog: Tamone.
Cemetery:
Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
