MASON CITY ? Bridget A. McCarron, 80 of 9 Willowbrook Dr., died Saturday, November 12, 2005 at her residence. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M today (November 15, 2005) at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, 302 ? 5th Street SE with Rev. Joseph Slepicka officiating. Inurnment will be in Elmwood ? St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Bridget A. McCarron memorial fund. Bridget was born on May 31, 1925 in Mason City, the daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Mogan) McCarron. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School. After graduation she entered the Dominican Order of Sinsinawa, WI to become a nun. She attended the University of Nebraska (Lincoln) graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and also a Master?s Degree. She then attended Fordham University in New York City attaining her Doctorate Degree. She worked as a textbook editor for the Scott Foresman Company in Chicago, Illinois. She returned to Mason City in 1974. Bridget was a long time member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She is survived by her siblings; brothers, Paul McCarron of New York, NY, Thomas J. and wife Patricia McCarron of Winchester, VA, Peter A. and wife Margaret McCarron of St. Paul, MN; sister, Camilla and husband Bill Weber of Grand Lake, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia McGinn, brother, Ralph McCarron; sisters, Roberta McCarron, Mary M. McCarron, Sara (Sally) Jean (McCarron) Muller.
