Calvin G. Cap" Huff

MASON CITY ? Calvin G. ?Cap? Huff, 81 of Mason City died February 12, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Tom Healey, Chaplain, Hospice of North Iowa officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be directed to Hospice of North Iowa in his name. ?Cap? was born September, 7, 1924 in Dodge, Nebraska, the third of ten children born to Lee O. and Lillian E. (Stewart) Huff. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1942. He was married to Virginia Hennigar in January of 1944 and they were later divorced. He then married Elizabeth Cook on August 27, 1955 and was widowed in 1983. ?Cap? worked for Hiland Potato Chip Co. for 29 years. After retiring from Hiland he worked for Mid-America Marketing and later was employed as Night Manager for County Market. ?Cap? enjoyed life most when he was outdoors whether it was playing golf, gardening or just appreciating nature. ?Cap? is survived by his children: Toni and Gary Hagen, Jill and Michael McLaughlin, Tom and Patty Clevenger and Dan and Linda Eichinger. He shared 20 years with his special companion, Delia Deeny. ?Cap? cherished his 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers and their wives: John and Judy Huff, David and Cecilia Huff, Clifford and Jane Huff, one sister, Vivian Groom and one sister-in-law, Phyllis Huff.
