Carl F. Brust, 85 of Mason City, died Friday, November 14, 2003, at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2003) at the First United Methodist Church, 119 South Georgia. Rev. Jim Stiles officiating. Military rites by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be held from 4:00 ? 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania. and for an hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in the West View Cemetery, LaPorte City, Iowa.. Memorials may be given to the Carl F. Brust Memorial Fund. Carl was born December 10, 1917 in LaPorte City, Iowa the son of Charles A. and Floy (Bailey) Brust. He graduated from LaPorte City High School and attended the Coyne Electrical School, Chicago and Diesel School at the University of Illinois. Carl was married to Loretta R. Klinger on June 2, 1940, in Waterloo, Iowa. He served with the U.S. Navy during WW II. They moved to Mason City in 1952. He worked for Zach Brothers Electric for 22 years and was self employed in the C & L Electric in Garner for 8 years retiring in 1983. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mason City, Senior Men?s Chamber of Commerce, Senior Citizens, American Legion and a former member of the Rod & Gun Club.
