MASON CITY: Carl G. Anderson, 83, of Mason City, died Friday, October 29, 2010 at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M, Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 North Adams, with Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Carl G. Anderson Memorial Fund in care of the family. Carl was born June 17, 1927 to Ruth (Lund) and Sven Anderson in Chicago, Illinois. He attended school in Chicago, then entered into the U.S. Navy See Bees and served in the South Pacific occupation forces. Carl was very active in sports, soccer, softball, golf, hunting and fishing, he also coached little league. He was married to Janet Beelen on August 28, 1948. They moved to Mason City in 1969, where he worked for A.C. Nielsen Company for thirty-five years until his retirement. Carl and his wife Janet enjoyed being Winter Texans in Rockport, Texas for thirteen years. He was a former member of the Noon Lions Club, Mason City Dance Club and member of the V.F.W. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he also was a former usher. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Beelen) Anderson of Mason City; son, Stephen Anderson and wife Cheryl of Tomball, TX; grandchildren, Antonia Hilton (David) of Austin, TX and Brad Anderson of Fort Stockton, TX; siblings, Jack Anderson of Temecula, CA and Janet Sheppard of Barrington Hills, IL; several nieces and nephews and two aunts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, June Left, Joan Filips and James Anderson.

Memorials may be directed to the Carl G. Anderson Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Cemetery:
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
