Carl ?Gus? Nolte, 81, of 1516 S. Carolina, died Tuesday, August 30, 2005. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday (September 2, 2005) at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 329 East State St., with Pastor Paul C. Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday (September 1, 2005) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa, St. James Lutheran Church or St. Paul Lutheran Church. Carl was born June 23, 1924 in Westboro, Missouri, the son of Dr. F.W. and Meta (Stuehmer) Nolte. He attended school in Tarkio, Missouri and graduated from Tarkio High School in 1942. He then attended Tarkio College receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1946. On June 11, 1950 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Harris in Mason City. Carl was employed as a plant engineer at State Brand Creamery/AMPI and retired in 1985 after 35 years of employment. After retirement he then owned and operated Nolte Limosine Service for five years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Carl is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Mason City; sons, David C. and wife Linda Nolte of Mason City, Frederick J. and wife Linda Nolte of Mason City, Bruce A. and wife Shari of Mason City; six grandchildren, Brian Nolte and wife Diann, Stacy Gibbs, Kevin and Curt Nolte, Joe and Jackie Nolte; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Gibbs; sisters, Trudy Reeves and husband Lloyd of Crete, Nebraska, Meta Hull and husband Phillip of Tarkio, Missouri; sister-in-law, Marge Nolte of Lincoln, Nebraska, and many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rev. Frederick Nolte; sister, Maggie Kemper.
