Carol A. Quinones

MASON CITY Carol A. Quinones, 78, of Mason City, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Good Shepherd Health Center. The family wishes to thank the Good Shepherd staff for their wonderful, loving care that was given to Carol. No funeral services are planned. The family will gather at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery for a private family burial. Memorials may be directed to the Carol A. Quinones Memorial Fund, in care of the family.
Carol was born on May 7, 1933, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Lola (Burch) Gasswint. Carol graduated from high school in Mason City. After high school, she was employed at Sears and Sam Raizes in Mason City, but for most of her life she was a homemaker. What she enjoyed most was her family, chatting on the phone with friends and family, traveling, eating out, taking photos, and also enjoyed her cat, Mickey. Carol was known for her kindness and sense of humor.
Carol is survived by her two daughters, Jan Brunstein of Iowa City, Lynn (Dale) Henaman of Mason City; one son, Lee (Tracy) Quinones of Hampton; grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Quinones and Ramsay Stepleton; and her loving friend, Leo Quinones; nieces and nephews, Devin Charles (Amy) Gasswint, Karen Kay Gasswint, Julianne (Mark) Bergdale, Suzanne Pearl.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Jean Jackson; and brother, Charles David Gasswint, Jr.
