Cecil ?Jim? R. Shultz, 73, of Mason City, died July 21, 2006 at the Good Shepherd Health Center with his family by his side. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, (July 25, 2006) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Steve Palo of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Veterans Rites performed by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Cecil ?Jim? R. Shultz memorial fund. Jim was born April 6, 1933 in Northwood, Iowa the son of Earl and Myrtle (Campbell) Shultz. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. Jim married Loretta "Pat" Hohenfield in 1956 and they were married for fifty years. Jim worked at various delivery and farming jobs until going to work for Ag Processing where he worked in the maintenance department for thirty five years until his retirement in 1990. Jim was a handyman that was always willing and enjoyed to give a hand when asked or needed. Family was important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim enjoyed attending auctions, camping, fishing, gardening and woodworking. His favorite part of the day was when he could spend time with family and friends having his morning coffee. He could often be found sitting on his front porch relaxing, and counting cars. Jim is survived by his wife Pat of Mason City; children, Neil (Sue) Bryant of Mason City, Jerry (Mariann) Bryant of Tracy, MN, Danny Shultz of Mason City, Patty Donisi of Mason City, Laurie (Marty) Cassel of Mason City and Joe (Jane) Shultz of Mason City; twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Gould, Donald, and Bobby Shultz; and three sisters, Ruth Vierkant, Bonnie Gabel and Mary Plagge.
