Charles A. Perrin, 76, of Mason City, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit following a massive stroke. Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Monday, June 3, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 100 South Pierce Ave., with Rev. Paul Collier officiating. Interment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Charles was born November 18, 1936 in Osage, Iowa, the son of Austin and Evelyn (Hartwig) Perrin. He grew up in Albert Lea, MN and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1955. He attended Austin Junior College; he then graduated from Mankato State College in 1960 with a double-major in Mathematics and Industrial Arts. He taught at high schools in Lakota, IA and Waterloo, IA, then earned a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Northern Iowa. He moved to Mason City in 1966, where he taught Mathematics and Pre-Engineering at North Iowa Community College until his retirement in 1998. Charles served in the Minnesota National Guard from 1953 – 1960, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Charles married Joan Van Denover of Austin, MN on September 20, 1958 at the First Methodist Church in Austin, to this union, two children, Scott and Michele were born. He enjoyed antique cars, his model railroad collection and working with his hands. He was especially proud of his home, which he designed and built with the help of his wife. Charles enjoyed the time he spent with his wife and family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Charles is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan Perrin of Mason City; son, Scott Perrin of Iowa City, IA; daughter, Michele Nelson of Newton, IA; two grandsons, Eric and Alex Nelson both of Newton, IA; one brother, Duane (Rebecca) Perrin of Virginia; three sisters, Janice (Harlan) Johnson of Minnesota, Virginia (Tom) Laustalot of California and Linda Perrin (Donald Trujillo) of Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Evelyn Perrin of Albert Lea, MN. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the First Presbyterian Church.

Cemetery:
Interment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
