Cheryl Kaye Johnson, 68, of Mason City, IA, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the Heritage Care and Rehab Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, June 29, 2014, in the Amsterdam Cemetery in Kanawha, IA. Memorials may be directed to the Cheryl Johnson memorial fund in care of the family. Cheryl was born November 3, 1945, in Clarion, IA, the daughter of Chester Joseph and Carol Elizabeth (Norby) Johnson. She graduated from Kanawha Community High School in 1964 and continued her education at Hamilton Business College in Mason City. For many years, Cheryl worked at AC Nielsen in bookkeeping/clerical, until the company closed. After that, she worked a variety of jobs, most recently at the Mason City Community Kitchen. Among her many hobbies, Cheryl greatly enjoyed volunteer work, spending time with her family – especially her nieces and nephews, listening to Gospel music and visiting with her many friends. She will be greatly missed. Cheryl is survived by four siblings, brother: Wayne (Julie) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, IA, twin sisters: Janet Otis of Algona, IA, and Judy Johnson of North Liberty, IA, and brother: David (Joyce) Johnson of Kanawha, IA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister: Marlene Kaye Johnson.
