Cleo Otis Willis, 52, of Mason City died Monday, December 15, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa from injuries sustained in a house fire. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Steve Palo officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place in the Bancroft Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Cleo Willis Memorial Fund and directed to Trinity Lutheran Church. Cleo was born December 9, 1956 in Buffalo Center, Iowa the son of George and Trellis (Jenkins) Willis. Originally from the Bancroft area, Cleo spent much of his youth in Algona. In recent years, he lived in Mason City and could often be seen riding his bicycle around town. He had a good heart and made many friends. Cleo loved animals and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he attended regularly.
Cleo is survived by his mother, Trellis Sammons of Dunlap, Iowa; brother, Russell (Tina) Willis of Dunlap and sister, Veta Willis of Ida Grove, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
Cleo was preceded in death by his father, George Willis; sister, Rosemarie and a niece.
