Clifford R. McCloud, 83, of 1608 S. Harding died Sunday (June 1, 2003) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Rev. Will Hunsaker, Open Bible First Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa. Clifford was born October 21, 1919 in Madrid, Iowa the son of Frederick and Florence (McKenna) McCloud. He served in the US Army during WW II. He married Violet Kennedy November 19, 1939 in Mason City. Clifford owned and operated M & M Motor Freight Company for many years retiring in 1980. He enjoyed collecting antique cars, entering many of them in parades, was a charter member of the North Iowa Vintage Auto Club, VFW, former member of the Moose Lodge and volunteered at Kinney Pioneer Museum Clifford is survived by daughters; Patricia Weaver of Mason City, Shirley Otten of Mason City, Son; Clifford McCloud Jr. and wife Peggy of Cape Coral, FL, Grandchildren; Matt Otten, Jon Otten, Jim Weaver, Alec McCloud, Lori Slater, Lisa Weaver, Great grandchildren; Staci Slater, Blake Slater II, Travis Rollefson, Ethan Weaver, Great great grandchild; RaeAna Slater.
