Darryl Lynn Griffen

Darryl Lynn Griffen, 47, of 814 S. Jackson, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at home. Memorial services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. James Magelssen, Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Darryl Lynn Griffen Memorial Fund. Darryl was born December 20, 1957 in St. Cloud, Minnesota the son of Dale and Frances (Martin) Griffen. His passion was automobiles. He worked as an auto mechanic in the North Iowa area most of his life. Darryl was a master fabricator. He also worked as a welder on cement plants and water towers in the area. Darryl enjoyed life as well as Mt. Dew. Darryl is survived by 3 sons, Lee Oscar Griffen and fiancee Jennifer of Charles City, Jesse Dean Griffen of Charles City, Jamie Joe Griffen of Charles City; granddaughter, Alexandra Paige Griffen of Charles City; mother, Frances Griffen of Mason City; brothers and sisters, Rosalie Carda and husband Eugene of Mora, MN, Dennis Griffen and wife Carolyn of Puyallup, WA, Barbara Nies and husband Del of Coon Rapids, MN, Charlotte Reynolds of Plymouth, Robert Griffen and wife Betty of Plymouth, Joyce Griffen of Brainerd, MN; several nieces and nephews. Darryl was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, Dale and son, Darryl Jr.
