David A. Faught

David A. Faught, 78, of Manly, IA, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue – Mason City. A private family inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the David Faught memorial fund in care of the family. David was born January 29, 1935, in Mason City, the son of Audrey and Dorothy (Zorn) Faught. He attended country school and graduated from Mason City High School. David continued his education at Hamilton College. From 1954–1957, David proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class. On February 18, 1956, David was united in marriage to Marjorie Hansen in Las Vegas, NV. He farmed for many years, and worked at Lehigh Cement Plant for 38 years before his retirement in 1997. David enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed life on the farm. David was a member of the Northwood VFW. David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie, of Manly; his children: Vicki Burgess of Iowa City, IA, Randall Faught and wife Carla of Manly, and Cheryl Luppen and husband Paul of Garner, IA; his grandchildren: Jill McConnell (Christian), Beth Burgess, Zachary Patterson, Thomas Patterson, Harley Faught, Makayla Luppen and Tierra Luppen; 2 brothers: Gary Faught and wife Delores and Roger Faught and wife Donna; 1 sister: Joyce Smith and husband Gary; and special cousin Tom Faught and his wife Sharon. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 sons in infancy: David Jr. and Neil.

Cemetery:
A private family inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date
