Dawn Renee Lubben

Dawn Renee Lubben, 44, of Mason City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at home. There will be a visitation for Dawn from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Mason City. Following the visitation, cremation will take place. Inurnment will take place in the First Baptist Cemetery, Forest City at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Dawn Lubben Memorial Fund.

Dawn was born July 24, 1971 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Calvin and Barbara (Lewis) Lubben. Dawn graduated from Mason City High School in 1989. She was currently employed at Goodwill here in Mason City. Dawn enjoyed creating and giving arts and crafts to her family and friends. Another special gift she possessed was cooking and hosting family and friends. Dawn loved to share a home cooked meal with the ones she loved. She had a way of making people laugh and feel welcomed in her home.

Dawn is survived by her son, Cort Lubben of Mason City; mother, Barbara Lubben of Mason City; brother, Chad (Kristen) Lubben of Chicago, Illinois; nieces, Norah & Colet Lubben; aunts, Dorothy Matson, Glenice Pease and Kris Lewis; uncle, Riley Lewis; cousins, Todd Lewis, Karey Alvarado, Kurt Matson, Kyle Matson and Kim Peters.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Calvin; uncle, Ray Matson; grandparents, Arloene and Russell Lewis and Thomas and Viva Lubben.
