Dennis Gene Strong, 64, of Mason City, IA, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at his home. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Epiphany Parish Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams, with Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. Inurnment will take place in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Mason City Veterans Association. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dennis Strong memorial fund in care of the family. Dennis was born November 7, 1949, in Mason City, the son of Letcher and Dorothy (Frank) Strong. Following his graduation from Mason City High School in 1968, Denny was drafted into the U.S. Army and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War, until his honorable discharge in 1971. He then returned to Mason City where he lived a happy and simple life. Family was everything to Denny. He enjoyed listening to music, going for rides with his brother Cary, and saying his prayers/Rosary. Denny was a kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold. He will be deeply missed. Denny is survived by his siblings: Cary Strong of Mason City, Kent Strong and wife Karla of Chandler, AZ, Deb Davis and husband Rick of Mason City, and Pam Kohlhaas and husband Wayne of Mason City. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Todd Strong, Matt Strong, Sheri Strong, Alison Challman, Marco True, Mallory Strong and Jami True. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Cemetery:
Inurnment will take place in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Mason City Veterans Association.
