Dennis Mervin Hinrichsen, 62, went peacefully home to be with his Savior, February 11, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit after a long battle with a rare disease called Marie Sanger Brown Syndrome. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday (February 14, 2007) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, with Pastor Sandi Gobeli of the Marble Rock United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City. Visitation will be from 5PM ? 7PM Tuesday (February 13, 2007) at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa. Dennis was born September 9, 1944 to Mervin and Alma Jean (Smith) Hinrichsen, in Marble Rock, IA. He graduated from RRMR high school in 1962. He was married to Linda Etzen on August 30, 1965 in Charles City, they were married for twenty-five years and to this union three children were born. Dennis raised livestock on a farm in rural Marble Rock for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, trapping, and fishing. He always enjoyed the time he spent with his children. His survivors include his children, Robin Lauber of Clear Lake, Tracy Cook and husband Jon of Sheffield, and Chad Hinrichsen and wife Bobbi of Rockford; grandchildren, Cortni and Caylee Cook, Laci and Armando Martinez, and Levi and Aaron Lauber; great-grandchild, Zaden Martinez; mother, Alma Jean Hinrichsen of Rockwell; sister, Judy Staudt and husband Larry of Marble Rock. He was preceded in death by his father, Mervin Hinrichsen; and his sister Lori Christensen.
