Donald R. Reimers, 70, of Rockwell, IA, died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at the United Methodist Church, 303 Monroe Street – Rockwell, with Pastor Ken Livingston of the First Grace Baptist Church – Sheffield officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue – Mason City. Inurnment will take place in the Rockwell Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Donald Reimers memorial fund in care of the family. Donald was born April 16, 1945, in Rockwell, the son of Earl and Reva (Hansen) Reimers. He graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School in 1963. On November 22, 1963, he enlisted in the Iowa National Guard. Don was united in marriage to Ruthann Gardinier on February 28, 1969, in Rockwell. Over the years he worked for Wright Tree Service, Floyd & Leonard and co-owned Don and Jim’s Auto with his brother-in-law before opening Don’s Auto Service in Rockwell in 1980. In 2000, Don sold his shop and retired. Don enjoyed spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Don loved his toys: classic cars, racing stock cars at the local area tracks, truck pulls, go kart racing with the boys, riding his motorcycle, and was especially proud of becoming a licensed pilot. Don is survived by his wife of 46 years: Ruthann Reimers of Rockwell; 2 sons: Ty Reimers of Gaylord, MN and Nathan Reimers of Rockwell; 5 grandchildren: Logan, Shyla, Korral, Ryker and Ava; 3 siblings: Laverne Reimers and wife Sue of Osage, IA, Mary Kay Reimers of Ames, IA, and Ken Reimers and wife Barb of Rockwell; 1 sister-in-law: Barb Ehrhardt and husband Russ of Manly, IA; and 4 brothers-in-law: Jim Gardinier and wife Marcia of Clear Lake, IA, Tom Gardinier and wife Pat of Opp, AL, Steven Gardinier of Crestview, FL, and Jerry Gardinier and wife Shelly of Clear Lake. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister: Marilyn Reimers; his mother and father-in-law: Lyle and Opal Gardinier; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Cemetery:
Inurnment will take place in the Rockwell Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Donald Reimers memorial fund in care of the family.

Service:
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at the United Methodist Church, 303 Monroe Street, Rockwell.
