Donna J. Billings

Donna Billings, 92, of Mobridge, South Dakota and formerly of Mason City, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the Eureka Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Donna (Sturges) Billings was born January 14, 1932, in the family home in Rockwell, Iowa to parents Leonard and Donnella (Piersol) Sturges. She graduated from Rockwell High School in 1949. After graduation she moved to Mason City where she worked for Iowa Hardware Mutual and Northwest for 32 years.

She was united in marriage to Morris Billings on February 24, 1951, in Rockwell. The couple was blessed with a son, James. The couple lived in Mason City until 1956 and then moved to Seatle, Washington where they lived for 40 years. The couple then moved to Mobridge, South Dakota in 2000.

Donna loved camping, fishing, and especially going south for the winter after she and Morris retired. Morris passed in 2005. The couple enjoyed many great years together and enjoyed traveling and spending time together.

Donna is survived by her Son, James Billings of Hayden, Idaho; grandchildren, Julie, Tammie and James; and 7 great-grandchildren; brothers Jay and Bob Sturges, along with many great family members and friends.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Morris; parents, Leonard and Donnella; sister, June, and a brother Wendell.
