Donna E. Smith, 58, of Mason City, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 24, 2012 at First Assembly of God, 1301 North Carolina Ave. with Pastor George Addy officiating, a reception at the church will follow. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be held at a later date in Rosehill Cemetery in Whittier, CA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Donna E. Smith memorial fund in care of the family. Donna Eileen Smith, 58, of Mason City, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. She was born September 27, 1954, in South Gate, California to Sequoyah and Creta Duncan. She married Gary Lee Smith on December 2, 1989 and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Nicole Smith of Iowa City and Ben Smith of Wesley; one grandson Bentley; her sister Irene Duncan of La Habra, CA; her brother Micheal (Montsi) Duncan of Redlands, CA; her mother-in-law Leona Smith of Mason City, IA; as well as her boxers, Holly and Rocky. Donna's parents, father-in-law, Jack Smith; and two sisters, Sheryl Celeste Duncan and Helen Lynette Wildvank preceded her in death. Donna was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from Paramount High School in 1972 and was a proud member of the PHS Pirate Marching Band. She moved to Britt, Iowa in 1999 and hated the weather, but stayed for the love of her family. A friend to everyone she met. She loved music; playing her clarinet in the North Iowa Concert Band, singing at church and home and volunteering for the KJCY Christian Radio Station. She also loved animals and a Midwest Boxer Rescue volunteer. She would want you to know that the Lord has healed her by taking her home.
Cemetery:
Interment will be held at a later date in Rosehill Cemetery in Whittier, CA.
