Dorothy D. (Klang) Pitzenberger, 81, 324 Second Street NE, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 South Kentucky Avenue with the Rev. Miles Grismore officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM ? 8:00 PM on Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue. Dorothy Darlene Klang was born November 12, 1922 in Poplar, Wisconsin, the daughter of Emil and Myrtle (Newman) Klang. She was a 1942 graduate of Superior High School in Superior, Wisconsin. Dorothy worked as a photo retoucher before moving to Mason City in the early 1940?s, and continued to work for many different photographers in the Mason City area, where she met and married John Pitzenberger. After retirement, John and Dorothy moved to Springdale, Arkansas in 1982 where they had many wonderful friends. Dorothy was a caring and loving mother and grandmother, and she enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening and entertaining friends and family. While living in Springdale, she attended Temple Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory are: Four daughters, Judy Trettin and husband Mike of St. Peter, Minnesota; Kathy Durham and husband James of Melbourne Beach, Florida; Barbara Siegel and husband Barry of Orlando, Florida; and Sue Szymeczek and husband Gary of Mason City. Seven grandchildren, Patrick Trettin of St. Peter, Minnesota; Rochelle and Shaina Siegel of Orlando, Florida; Carrie Ott and husband Nathan of Mason City; Joe Szymeczek of Mason City; Cpl. John Szymeczek and wife Jennifer of Jacksonville, North Carolina; and Sarah Szymeczek of Mason City. Two great grandchildren, Adriane Kristine Ott of Mason City and Nicole Kaye Szymeczek of Jacksonville, North Carolina. One brother, Virgil Klang and wife Yvonne of Rockford, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, parents and one brother, Wayne.
