Dorothy I. TeKippe

Dorothy I. TeKippe, 99, of Mason City, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the IOOF Home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Steve Hansen, Wesley United Methodist Church and Rev. Kathleen Moore, First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or Wesley United Methodist Church.

Dorothy was born August 15, 1916 in Mason City the daughter of Preston and Florence (Gardinier) St. Peter. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1934. Dorothy married Burton H. “Bud” TeKippe December 24, 1938 in Mason City. A life-long resident of Mason City, Dorothy and Burton owned and operated Mason City Artificial Ice Company for many years with Dorothy serving as the bookkeeper. A few of her interests included needle point, reading, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Burton H. (Barbara) TeKippe Jr. of Mason City, Diane I (Ronald) Romig of Johnston, Sandra K. (Gary) Paulsen of Mason City, Michael P. (Victoria) TeKippe of Mason City and Christina M. (Curtis) Trebil of Mason City; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Burton in 1993 and 2 sisters.
