MASON CITY: Dorothy Marie Birch, 95, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Concord Care Center in Garner. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday November 13 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Rev. Steve Hansen of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Plymouth, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home at 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue in Mason City with a Women of the Moose memorial service at 6:45 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Dorothy Marie Birch fund or the donors choice in her name. Dorothy Marie Birch was born March 23, 1913 to Jesse and Mary (Miles) Ashlock in Wing, North Dakota. Dorothy moved to Mason City when she was eleven years old and went to high school through the eleventh grade. Dorothy married Dale (Luttie) Birch on November 12, 1932 and stayed home to raise their children. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Deloris Kittleson of Mason City; son, Gary Birch and wife Joyce of Garner; grandson, Bruce Kittleson and wife, Michele and their children, Jonathan, Megan, and Jake of Osage; grandson, Jeff Rumme and wife Diane of Santa Maria, CA; great-grandsons, Chris Rumme and wife Colleen of Santa Maria, CA, Cody and Travis Kittleson of Mason City; great-granddaughter, Jennifer Rumme and special friend, Josh of Chandler, AZ; great great grandchildren, Hailey Ann Rumme of Santa Maria, CA; sister, Genevieve Peterson of Como, MS and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mary Ashlock; husband, Dale; son, Ronnie; son-in-law, Nels Kittleson; granddaughter, Tammie; grandson, Bradly Kittleson; brothers, George and Gerald Ashlock; sisters, Vivian Broadwell, Myrtle Muhlstein, and Geraldine (Chinander) Wilhite.

Memorials:
Memorials may be given to the Dorothy Marie Birch fund or the donors choice in her name.

Cemetery:
Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Plymouth, Iowa.
