Dorothy M. Heinold, 90, of Mason City, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center.
A private funeral service will be held at the Grace Evangelical Free Church. Services will be livestreamed on the Major Erickson Funeral Home Facebook Page. The stream will be available at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the Grace Evangelical Free Church, 440 N Illinois Ave. The family requests that masks be worn by those attending the visitation.
Interment will be held in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Dorothy Heinold.
Dorothy Marilyn Heinold was born on April 12, 1931, in Clear Lake to parents Milton and Hazel (Peterson) Frazier. Dorothy moved to Mason City at the age of 11 and attended Rock Falls High School. After High School she met Ronald Heinold and on August 16, 1948, in Grundy Center the two were united in marriage. Dorothy was a farm wife for many years before taking a job with Mid Continental Bottling. Later in life she opened her own bookstore Christian Book and Gift. This bookstore became her ministry and her passion. Dorothy was very involved throughout her life with her church. She taught Sunday School and assisted with various church activities.
Dorothy had many loves in life ranging from gardening, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. No one ever left her table hungry.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Patricia (Dick) Kammrad, David (Linda) Heinold; siblings, Mildred Crosby, Maurice (Marlene) Frazier; son in law, Barrett Brainerd; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron Heinold; daughter, Marilyn Brainerd; siblings, DeWitt Frazier, Leonard Frazier, and Frances Merfeld.
