Earl M. Jorgensen, 81 of Mason City, died Thursday, December 12, 2012, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, December 16th, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, December 17, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th St. N.W. with Pastor Steve Hansen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Swaledale Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Earl M. Jorgensen memorial fund, in care of the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com. Earl was born on December 29th, 1930 in Thornton, Iowa, the son of Hans and Henrietta (Oeltjenburns) Jorgensen. He attended and graduated from Swaledale High School. On June 3rd, 1951 he was united in marriage to Beryl Laudner, and later that year was drafted into the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Earl and Beryl were blessed with 4 daughters during their 61 years of marriage. Earl loved the land and was a farmer for most of his life. He and Beryl moved off of the farm and to Mason City in 1994. He was member of Grace United Methodist Church in Mason City. Throughout his years he enjoyed golf, sports on TV, time with family and friends, his church or a good game of cards. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beryl of Mason City; his four daughters, Vicki (Dennis) Armatis of Beaumont, CA, Kim (Ray) Ouellette of Ham Lake, MN, Julie (Pat) Bamrick of Lawton, IA, and Valerie (Keith) Rankins of Houston, TX, five grandchildren, Deni Jo (Matt) Seagrave, Jason (Kristin) Armatis; Jameson (Theresa) Bamrick, Austin Bamrick, and Dane Bamrick; three great-grandchildren, Landon & Madelyn Seagrave; and Harlow Armatis; siblings, brothers, Red (Wilma) Jorgensen of Mason City, Gordon (Charlene) of Des Moines,IA; sisters, Lois (Floyd) Zobel of Lincoln, NE and Mary Ann (Jack) Motter of Flippin, AR; brother in-laws, Karl (Jean) Laudner of Mason City; & Raymond Cheever of AR, and sister in-law, Verta Mae Jorgensen of MN. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Robert and a very special grandson Timothy Justin Johnson. Earl was a man of few words, with a strong faith and a great love and pride in his family
