Edna F. Uker

Edna F. Uker, 98, of Mason City, died Tuesday, September 14, 2005 at Heritage Care Center. A funeral service will be held Monday 10:30 A.M. (September 19, 2005) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Tom Healey of St. James Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Edna F. Uker memorial fund and St. Paul Lutheran Church. Edna was born on March 29, 1907 in Franklin County, Iowa the daughter of James and Lillian (Woodley) VanRiper. She attended schools in Hanlontown and Lake Mills, Iowa.She married Clifford Mostrom in 1925, and was married to him until his death in 1953. She then married William Uker on March 29, 1955. Edna Lived in Rockford, Iowa until moving to Mason City in 1992. She enjoyed cooking, baking pies, entertaining and being around friends and family. She is survived by grandchildren, Mark Mostrom and wife Cindy of Mason City, Lisa VoPava and husband James of Freeland, Pennsylvania, Cindy Lang and husband Richard of Des Moines; stepdaughters, Mary Reed of Marble Rock and families, Grace Oghum and husband William of Rock Island, Illinois and families, eight great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Emma Mostrom of Mason City. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Clifford Mostrom; second husband, William Uker; son, Richard Mostrom; daughter, Lillian Napatalino; two brothers; five sisters
