MASON CITY, IOWA Edna McCaulley, 81, of Mason City, died Friday, February 25, 2011, at the IOOF Home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 28, 2011, at Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th St. N.W., with Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.
Edna was born June 29, 1929, on a farm north of Ventura, Iowa, the daughter of Birch and Barbara Jane (Humphrey) Robison. She graduated from Garner High School in 1947 before earning her Registered Nurse Certificate from Mercy School of Nursing in 1950. She was working for Mercy Hospital when she met Dale McCaulley. They were united in marriage November 17, 1950, on the Robison Homestead in Garner, and to this union came three children, Barbara, Debra and Brian. In 1968, Edna joined the Public Health Nurses and served as director for 12 of those years before retiring in 1991. She served as Parish Health Nurse at Grace United Methodist Church after retirement. She enjoyed bird watching and wildlife while living on the Winnebago River and more recently, Spring Lake. She loved her family and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Edna is survived by her children, Barbara McCaulley of Mason City, Debra (Dwight) Boisen of Mason City, Brian Hub (Melissa Nelson) McCaulley of Bellingham, WA; five grandchildren, Meghan (David) Haas, Kari Peters, Kris Peters, Korey Peters, Cody McCaulley and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dale.
