Edward D. Edwards

Edward D. Edwards, 89, of Rudd, IA, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Heritage Care Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 South Kentucky Ave., with the Rev. Miles Grismore officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Faith Baptist Church. Edward D. Edwards was born February 8, 1922 in rural Williamsburg, IA the son of Charles A. and Carro Collingworth. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. Ed farmed in his earlier years on the family farm. He was married to Dorothy M. Hansen on August 31, 1968 in Curlew, Iowa. They lived in Waterloo, IA from 1976 to 1986 and Ed managed apartments for R.C. Realtors. They moved to Rudd in 1986. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he enjoyed fellowship, and also enjoyed attending the mission trips to Equador. Ed will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his brother, Ivan and wife Verna Jean Edwards; nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dorothy in 1996.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Faith Baptist Church.
