Edwin L. Heusmann

Edwin L. Heusmann, 90, of Mason City, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Health Center.

A graveside service will take place in the spring of 2020 in the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the family of Edwin Heusmann.

Ed was born August 24, 1929 in Rudd, IA, the son of Friebert and Adele Heusmann. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1948.

Ed entered the U.S. Army in February of 1951 and served until his honorable discharge in January of 1953. During his service he was stationed in Germany as part of the Signal Corps.
After his discharge Ed worked in various retail and manufacturing companies until ending his working career at Opportunity Village (now One Vision) in Clear Lake, IA. He enjoyed his time “the Village” and felt fulfilled being able to help and support the challenged residents.
Ed enjoyed fishing, photography and auction/garage sales. He was always looking for treasures.

Survivors include his nephew Dave Heusmann of Mt. Pleasant, IA and niece Barb Berry of Portage, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Waldemar Heusmann and one sister Linda Denner.
