Eleanore D. Jackson, 90, of 633 4th Street NE, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 4th Street SE with Pastor Paul C. Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue and continue at the church one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to the Eleanore D. Jackson Memorial Fund. Eleanore was born January 28, 1916 in Austin, Minnesota the daughter of Frederick and Frieda (VanDrier) Hartkopp. She was united in marriage to William H. Jackson June 24, 1933 at St. James Lutheran Church, Mason City. Eleanore was so loved by all her family and she loved each one back in special ways. While raising her children, she became ?mom? to all their friends. Her door was always open to give comfort and advice. Eleanore lived most of her life in Mason City. She worked for Marshall and Swift many years retiring at the age of 75. Eleanore loved flowers, her yard and family gatherings. She was a great cook and liked trying new things. Her favorite hobby was crocheting dolls and afghans. Mom was and will remain the center of our lives. We will miss her and cherish the memories of her forever. Eleanore is survived by her children, Virginia M. Baago and husband Dennis of Waterloo, Phyllis J. Roethler of Nora Springs, William L. Jackson and wife Kathleen of Mason City, Norma J. Helland and husband Arlin of Mason City, James J. Jackson and wife Yolunda of Ruthven; grandchildren, William Shelburne, Jennie Blau and husband Don, Deborah Roethler, Steven V. Roethler, Greg S. Bradbury, Timothy Bradbury and wife Bonnie, Julie Frickie and husband Gary, James Jackson and wife Rachel, Jodie Fink and husband Jim, Alison Hauser, Stephanie Helland, Michael Jackson and wife Becky, Lisa Jackson, Lori Jackson and Misty Scott; 28 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister, Grace Schultz of Mason City; special niece, Mary E. Walter of Ankeny. Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Anton Jackson; brothers, Emil Hartkopp, Martin Hartkopp; sisters, Jennie Danger, Helen Danger; son-in-law, Vincent Roethler; great grandson, James D. True; great granddaughter, Cassie Frickie.
