Florence Irene Wagner

MASON CITY Florence Wagner age 82, of Mason City, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday (March 13, 2010) at First United Methodist Church, 119 South Georgia Ave. with the Rev. Jim Stiles officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa or the First United Methodist Church.
Florence was born January 12, 1928 at her family home north of Mason City, the daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Rhodes) Hubacher. She graduated from Mason City High School She then went to nursing school at Sisters of Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City, IA, graduating in 1949. She married Arthur Paul Wagner on October 8, 1949, at the First United Methodist Church in Mason City, IA.
Florence was employed by A.J. Stueland M.D. for 40 years and retired her career of nursing at the Mason City Clinic - Internal Medicine, working as Steven Septer, M.D.s nurse for nine years.
Florence enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening, canning, genealogy, and reading. She loved caring for her family and all those she met. She has been a life long member of the First United Methodist Church.
Florence is survived by her husband, Arthur Paul Wagner of Mason City; two sons, Gary (Helen) Wagner of Mason City, Doug Wagner of Mason City; two daughters, Sally (Ed) Zimmerman of Mason City, Sarah (David) Hubka of Belmond, IA; one brother, John (Esther) Hubacher of Mason City; two sisters, Bonnie Olson of Mason City, Irene (Russ) Moretz of Kensett, IA; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; many nephews, nieces, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Clarence and Mabel Hubacher; brothers, Floyd Hubacher and Charles Hubacher; one sister, Darlene Hubacher.
