Florence H. Peterson, 92, of Mason City, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Steve Hansen, Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to the Florence H. Peterson Memorial Fund. Florence was born December 17, 1914 in Sheffield, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Leider) Crook. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1932. Florence married A.M. (Pete) Peterson on December 19, 1938 in Mason City. She enjoyed watching Hawkeye Basketball, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, attending her grandchildren?s baseball and softball games, Jim?s puppy ?Pepper?, going to Chicago, and selling Avon. She loved the holiday?s and her family. She was a member and past president of the VFW and was also the past president for Avon. She also belonged to the Grace United Methodist Church. Florence is survived by her children: Sharon Norris of Chicago, IL, Marcia Christensen and husband Dennis of Manly, IA, Jim Peterson and his wife Cindy of Rudd, IA, and Nancy Easley and her husband Ray of Marion, IA; Twelve grandchildren: Sue Norris, Davey Norris, Jason Norris and his wife Lisa, Andy Christensen and his wife Tammy, Jami Peterson, Jake Peterson and his wife Dana, Leah Peterson, Melinda Easley, Jonathan Easley, Liz Wood and her husband Bob, Darcy Madden, and Michael Raab and his wife Kelly. 11 Great-Grandchildren: Nicole, Grace, Kaylee, Sheyanne, Breyden, Brooklyn, Emma, Jenna, Derek, Calvin and Jose. One sister-in-law: Phyllis Killian of Mesa, AZ, Two brothers-in-law: Roy Peterson of Mason City and special brother-in-law, Edwin Johnson of Mason City. She was preceded in death by her husband A.M. (Pete), her parents, two sons: Gary and Robert Peterson, two brothers: Harold and Lyle Crook, and her beloved sister: Ilene Johnson, and one great granddaughter: Sierra.
