Flossie G. Lorentzen

Flossie G. Lorentzen, 89 of Mason City died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Good Shepherd Health Center where she was loved and cared for. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. James M. Magelssen of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Plymouth, Iowa. Memorials may be given to the Good Shepherd Telephone Reassurance Program in her name. Visitation will be held 4:30 P.M. ? 6:30 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2003 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue. Flossie was born October 3, 1914 the daughter of Sidney and Edith (Lester) Birch in Mason City. She attended schools in Mason City. She was married to Leroy T. Lorentzen on May 16, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa. Flossie and Til (Leroy) made their home in Nora Springs from 1945 to 1964 where they raised their family before returning to Mason City. She worked at Armour?s until the plant closed in 1975 when she retired. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Flossie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the Rebecca Circle at Nora Springs Lutheran Church. Flossie is survived by her three Sons: Bill Lorentzen and wife Karen of Rockford, Illinois; Bob Lorentzen and wife Carol of Mason City; Jerry Lorentzen and wife Nancy of Rockwell, Iowa; sisters-in-law Dorothy Birch of Mason City; Mary Lorentzen of Decorah, Iowa; brother-in-law Frank White of Oregon; Four Grandchildren; many Great Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leroy, brothers Dale and Cecil and sisters Annette, Betty and Phyllis, infant grandson Matthew.
