Frances B. Blake, 93 of Grinnell and formerly of Mason City, died Friday, April 9, 2004 at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. Funeral services for Frances will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 12, 2004 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Avenue with Rev. Eldon Jandebeur officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Frances was born January 5, 1911 the daughter of John and Rose (Barker) Colegrove in Greentop, Missouri. Frances attended school in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School. Frances married Richard V. ?Bud? Blake on August 29, 1929 in Kirksville, Missouri. Frances worked as a cashier for Younkers for twenty-five years. The Blake?s moved to Weslaco, Texas in 1979 and then to New Sharon, Iowa in 1993. Frances is survived by: her sons, Richard C. Blake and wife Sally of Montezuma, Iowa and Ken L. Blake and wife Anita of La Crosse, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; three step-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud in 2002, five brothers and five sisters.
